This was made entirely within the time it takes the earth to make one whole rotation. At the time of creation, I was unfamiliar with mandalas. Upon completion, a few people I showed it to called it a mandala. The radial symmetry, application of phi, pi and fractal geometry in the design and concept of perceptual awareness seem to make my work at home in what I see as a tradition of mandala creation that is alive to this day.
I hand-inked one section of the circle, photocopied it at half-scale, then scanned and printed the other seven sections, four of them being mirror images.
