i started drawing mandalas back in february 2004 because i kept seeing them in my imagination. it was funny, because people who saw them often said they'd had similar visions. i did this one in a small english town called totnes, which is on very spiritually fertile land in the devon countryside; i was in a kind of trance at one point and i drew the faces with hardly any effort at all. very strange. i often wonder what the human attraction to mandalas is, but i think it's best left unexplained and mysterious. i mean, no one knows really, do they.
