The mandala shows a form of design that is used in the Middle East and East Indian culture called Henna or Mendhi. Different designs in Henna have different meanings such as flowers representing the fertility of women. Henna is an intricate body art that is created with small details that create a bigger picture. Many years ago henna was used to decorate, condition and cleanse the skin. It is also used in Middle Eastern and East Indian cultures for weddings, and religious ceremonies. In this mandala I chose to use black and green since both colors are currently used to create henna designs on the body. The main color in this mandala is black, with green as a contrast color to highlight other details.
