I learned that everything was a mandala and that a mandala is something that starts small and circles out.

I learned that I am a mandala because I started as a baby and grew to a kid then I'm going to be a grown-up.

I learned that Chinese people have a lot of similar things in common with us. The color red is their main color and they do a lot of art.

We have the same kinds of cars and we both eat the same stuff. What is different is that their writing goes down.

I like the art that we did and I like learning about mandalas.

Note: This mandala was made in a Mandala Project workshop called "Chinese-American Mandala" in May, 2000. After a presentation on Chinese culture, each student created a mandala with symbols from both Chinese and American cultures and then wrote about their experience. Read more about the workshop.
