Everything is a mandala and mandalas are made out of atoms and they start from the middle and spread out. I learned that I am a mandala and that we are made from atoms and that we are touching someone even if we're really not. Chinese people have a different way and religion than we have and different clothes. They make nice paintings on bamboo. Same: McDonald's, we're both human, we live on the same earth, breathe the same air. Different: dragon symbols, different culture, different way of speaking and they don't have letters, just symbols. What I liked about the workshop was that I felt calm, confident, relaxed, concentrated and happy about myself. Note:
This mandala was made in a Mandala Project
workshop called "Chinese-American Mandala" in May, 2000. After
a presentation on Chinese culture, each student created a mandala with
symbols from both Chinese and American cultures and then wrote about their
experience. Read more about the
workshop. |
