I learned that we are all mandalas and everything is made up of atoms. A mandala starts from the middle and goes out like a flower. I learned that if everything is a mandala, that we are like somehow connected to people from all over the world. Similarities: Chinese people have certain things that are popular like the Great Wall of China. That have celebrities in China too. We both have flags and houses. They are different in ways like their cars and architecture. I thought it was interesting learning about mandalas and how much effort we all put in the quilt, especially Mrs. C. She did a great job. This mandala was made in a Mandala Project
workshop called "Chinese-American Mandala" in May, 2000. After
a presentation on Chinese culture, each student created a mandala with
symbols from both Chinese and American cultures and then wrote about their
