I learned that everything is a mandala and that it is a shape with a center that projects out. I learned that when you do art you can be very creative in what you make. I learned that China and the Chinese people have a very interesting culture, like their artwork. The Chinese people are just like us. They have clothes, a body and do artwork. The difference is our cultures and our religions. I liked the way Mrs. C explained things to us. I also liked the way I could be very creative in what I made. Note:
This mandala was made in a Mandala Project
workshop called "Chinese-American Mandala" in May, 2000. After
a presentation on Chinese culture, each student created a mandala with
symbols from both Chinese and American cultures and then wrote about their
experience. Read more about the
workshop. |
