I learned that everything is a mandala and that a mandala is a circle. I learned that I am a mandala, what I eat and drink are mandalas and what I breathe are mandalas. I learned that Chinese people are very religious, spiritual and superstitious. Chinese and Americans are very similar. Number 1, we are all mandalas and we all breathe, eat, sleep and talk mandalas. What's different about us is we might think differently. I liked that we got to learn and interact with a culture. Note:
This mandala was made in a Mandala Project
workshop called "Chinese-American Mandala" in May, 2000. After
a presentation on Chinese culture, each student created a mandala with
symbols from both Chinese and American cultures and then wrote about their
experience. Read more about the
workshop. |
