I learned that everything is a mandala and that a mandala is a circle. I learned that all sorts of fruit is in a circle, like a banana, a kiwi, a grape, an orange and an apple. I also learned that I am a mandala and that my eyes are mandalas. My mouth can be in the shape of a mandala. I learned that my nose holes are mandalas. Chinese people are the same as us in some ways, but different in other ways. They play some of the same games and they have Chinese New Year and we also have New Year's. The differneces are everything is in Chinese. I liked making the little mandalas and I liked making the Chinese American mandalas. Note:
This mandala was made in a Mandala Project
workshop called "Chinese-American Mandala" in May, 2000. After
a presentation on Chinese culture, each student created a mandala with
symbols from both Chinese and American cultures and then wrote about their
experience. Read more about the
workshop. |
