I learned that everything is a mandala and that a mandala is an atom and a molecule. I learned that a mandala has a center. I learned that I am a mandala. My face is a mandala and it has a center that is my nose. I learned my whole body is a mandala and my center is my belly button. I learned that we have some things in common with Chinese people. I learned about what they do when they make a sand mandala and after they make it. They can do things like us. We have a McDonald's and so do they. They wear different clothes and they wear their hair differently. I liked that we got to make our own mandala. I like the shapes and things we do. I especially like the teacher. Note:
This mandala was made in a Mandala Project
workshop called "Chinese-American Mandala" in May, 2000. After
a presentation on Chinese culture, each student created a mandala with
symbols from both Chinese and American cultures and then wrote about their
experience. Read more about the
workshop. |
