I learned that everything is a mandala. Also, I learned that a mandlaa is a circle with a point in the middle with pictures and color exploding ouward. I learned that I am made up of mandalas because I am made up of atoms and they are mandalas.

I learned that Chinese people invented the kite and the slants on their roofs are to keep away evil spirits.

Chinese people and Americans both have heroes in sports and otherwise. We both live on Earth. Chinese wear different clothes than us and they cook differently.

I liked making the little mandalas that we all added to.

Note: This mandala was made in a Mandala Project workshop called "Chinese-American Mandala" in May, 2000. After a presentation on Chinese culture, each student created a mandala with symbols from both Chinese and American cultures and then wrote about their experience. Read more about the workshop.
