This mandala is based on a Mapuche ceremonial drum (kultrung) which shows
the circle of life in its four parts. Four is the Mapuche sacred number. They
(Mapuche) as almost every ancient culture, are much in contact with the earth
and its cycles and base their ceremonies on them.
