I've been fascinated by mandalas since the late 60s when Carl Jung's "Man and His Symbols" introduced me to this elegant artform. I've made a lot of them over the years employing various media, most recently computerized draw and paint programs. To me, mandalas are the perfect balance of personal and universal expression.

This design was inspired by a late summer sunset at the beach. As day became night, the unique spirit of the sky, ocean, sand and sun could be clearly sensed yet each element blended harmoniously with the others, creating a scene of even greater power and beauty. It's called "Four Quarters."
